Michael’s work was a pleasure to see. He was nice enough to talk to us about some of his paintings. His main thing was trying to mislead the mind. In most of his paintings there are certain lines that appear to be behind but once you pay attention to them you can see that the line was painted on top. He talked about how he paints with so much freedom because he does not have to look at something for his work. All his work is his imaginations roaming free.
He describes his work as “a product of tension and balance” in his exhibition description, he also mentions that his goals for the work is to create a visual pleasure and a disruption for the audience. I can say that he truly achieved these goals. I hope Michael can create another exhibition for us before this semester is over because I really enjoyed and appreciated his work.
