Week 3- Artist Interview- Yireh Elaine Kwak

Yireh Elaine Kwak was great. She paints what she sees happening around the world, and also the beauty and peacefulness of nature. A very hard working painter, she described how she would work day and night on her art works. All her hard work was very much appreciated, because all her works are amazing. Here are some of my favorites.

These two were inspired by the “tensions between landscapes”. They show what happens to nature when it collides with our cities. I think the message is very strong. Nature is being destroyed every where in the world and there are not too many people defending it.

Yireh Elaine Kwak lives in an area that is surrounded by nature. She wanted to paint the beauty of where she lives and what it looks like when civilization doesn’t destroy nature but decide to live within it.

This work was my favorite by Yireh Elaine Kwak! I’ve always like illusions, and this art work is a great example of it. It makes me trip out in a good way.
